Garlic Chicken and Gravy

Chicken with Garlic Gravy

Family favorite, ready in under 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (4 oz each)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 5 garlic cloves, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp chicken broth, divided
  • 1/2 cup white wine (or additional chicken broth)
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour



Directions

  1. Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook chicken and garlic in butter for 5 minutes, or until browned.
  3. Add 1/2 cup chicken broth, wine (or additional broth), basil, and oregano. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 7–9 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through (no longer pink).
  5. Remove chicken with a slotted spoon and keep warm.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the remaining chicken broth with flour until smooth. Stir into skillet juices.
  7. Bring to a boil and cook 1–2 minutes, stirring, until thickened.
  8. Serve gravy over chicken.
